SkillPill: Clay Figure Modeling Workshop

Wednesday, Oct 8, 2014
6:30pm -> 9:30pm
AltCity Media

Have you ever wondered how your favorite clay cartoon characters are made? Learn how to transform your 2D character design into a 3D figurine using modeling clay.

It’s not that hard, it only takes 3 hours (less than it takes you to torrent a movie) and can be summarized by the following:
– sketching the character we want to create, focusing on its characteristics and features
-creating a skeleton for our lovely character using wires and aluminum foil
– covering up the character with clay by working with scarfing tools
– dressing up our little friends (be careful of their attitude, it’s serious when it comes to outfit)
– at the end, we will photograph our clay figurines, to keep a nice memory of it (a selfie won’t hurt anyone)

Mohamad Nour Minkara, the instructor for the class, work is various graphic design mediums focusing on illustration, photography, installation and calligraphy.

Cost
$20 at the door.
