Palestinian Dad Backs his Arrested Daughter on Facebook

Roaya Al-Hazeel was arrested by Israeli forces on Monday during a protest against a project called the Prawer Plan, which aims to expel between 30 and 50 thousand Palestinian Bedouins from the Negev desert, according to the Al Akhbar.

Amer Al Hazeel posted a picture of his daughter Roaya, arrested by the Israeli forces on Monday July 15 when Palestinians from the Negev desert land were protesting against Israel’s Prawer plan.



So far, 14 Palestinians have been arrested, including two minors, according to Al-Akhbar newspaper. On Twitter and Facebook, the hash-tags #StopPrawerPlan and #برافر_لن_يمر having been circling the Internet since the arrests on Monday.




This is considered the largest demolition, land confiscation and forced displacement campaign since 1948. The Israeli government maintains that the Bedouins do not own the land and claims they live there illegally.
